Biography
Tenor Patrick Conklin hails from Collins, Ohio, where he began his musical journey with the Oberlin Choristers. Through this ensemble, he gained early professional experience performing alongside acclaimed groups such as the Cleveland Opera and Apollo's Fire Baroque Orchestra.
Patrick earned his Bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University, where his credits included leading roles such as Hyllus in Handel's Hercules, Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, and Count de Rosillon in The Merry Widow.
He continued his training at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, receiving his Master's degree and performing the roles of Scaramuccio in Ariadne auf Naxos and Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville. Other notable performances include Tamino in The Magic Flute as a Young Artist with Opera Steamboat, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance with MIOpera, the title role in Britten's Saint Nicolas Cantata, and the tenor soloist for Bach's Magnificat with the Bloomington Chamber Singers. He also appeared as the tenor soloist for Handel's Messiah at the University of Chicago's Rockefeller Memorial Chapel.
Currently, Patrick is pursuing his Doctorate at Indiana University, where he recently performed the role of Rodolfo in their production of La Bohème. When he isn't on stage or in the practice room, Patrick can be found hiking, woodturning, or spending time with his wife and their cats.
